Mt. Takao

Tuesday was a national holiday for the Autumnal Equinox. The weather was beautiful, so we decided to head outdoors. After much online research, we decided on Mt. Takao, which is only about an hour outside of downtown, and has a shrine on the top, built in 744 (originally - I think they've made some updates since then...) You can check out our pictures here. Tokyo-ites are really good about getting out and using public recreation areas. That also means, however, that everyplace is packed on the weekends and holidays.



If this is any indication, climbing Mt. Fuji will be a three ring circus!
