I just thought I would post some updates about what we have been doing with the apartment, decor-wise. We have been working on a time-around-the-world wall for a while now. (I stole this idea from Jessica H-K - such a clever girl!) We have time up for Austria (top), Japan (middle) and the Midwest (bottom).
We have also been trying to find a lamp for above the dining room table for some time. Light fixtures here are all pretty expensive (at least to us), so we came up with a good, low cost solution. We bought a hanging light bulb (about $6) and a paper lantern from a restaurant supply store (about $10). I hung the little extra paper balloon on the bottom and !boom! instant light fixture.
