Soul Power!

The Down household has been majorly in need of some spicing up here lately - we've had too many quiet, domestic weekends in a row. Thankfully, our friends, Gay and Warwick, came to rescue with a funkadelic pick-me-up. James Brown.

That's right - there is a James Brown tribute band in Japan, and we saw them in concert last night. The venue was a little blues club in Meguro called Blues Alley, and everybody who's somebody in the world of Tokyo Funk was in attendance. By the end of the evening we (OK - maybe just Gay and I) were up and dancing to the beat.

The lighting wasn't great, so I snagged some promo-shots from Mr. Jamuto Brown's myspace page to share the SOUL. You can click over and hear songs as well.

(Yes, he actually wore this spandex sex outfit on stage. It was awesome.)
