Let me back up a bit - we planned to leave Japan this year for a while - even before the earthquake. We have been in Japan over three years now, and we are ready for something new.
Originally, we planned to leave in July, but after the earthquake it has been difficult to get people to come to Japan, meaning that we ended up staying longer than anticipated. I ended my job in June, so I have spent the last few months entertaining my parents who visited Japan and traveling a bit myself. Now we are in the home stretch before the big move and I am occupying my time organizing our household goods shipment.
Our next big adventure is more travel! We will be traveling for 8 weeks between Japan and the US - spending 6 weeks traveling around the world and the final two weeks back in the Midwest for the holidays.
