Michael and I are back in Tokyo and on the normal work schedule. We had a lovely week in Bangkok with Michael's family. There was shopping, and Lily's wedding reception, Monk's Bowl Village, and more shopping! You can see the pictures by clicking on the Flickr stream on the right side of the blog. He is switching photo editing programs and driving his poor wife crazy because she can't easily upload pictures to the blog. Hopefully I will learn soon!
Anyway - we came back to Japan on January 1 and then took the bullet train to Minakami in the Japanese Alps on January 2 to go skiing and snowshoeing. It's the same deal with those pictures, unfortunately, except that they are NOT on Flickr. The bullet train was wonderful - it goes super fast and is super smooth - the perfect nap machine for a person who sleeps easily in moving vehicles (me!). They had about 4-6 feet of snow in Minakami - great for showshoeing - and we made several new friends at our lodge.
