Location: Akasaka
Cuisine: French
We originally thought Ali-Bab was a Persian place - who can blame us with the name? But it turned out to be a great little French restaurant - perfect for date night. It has a cozy dining room with friendly wait staff ready to translate the French/Japanese menu. The location is just across the main drag from our apartment, which is very convenient.
We shared the signature salad to start, then Michael ordered the Chicken with vegetables, and I had a lamb stew. Both were very good. I finished with the Chocolate Mousse, which was to die for.
A highlight is the bread, which is whole wheat. It's hard to find whole grain breads here, so we ordered it solely to take home for breakfast the next morning.
If anything, the prices are a little high, so we won't be going every weekend - just for special occasions.
